ADUs
with your property in mind.

An ADU starts with the property around it. Tell us about the space you have, how you want to use the dwelling, and whether you are starting from a new idea or an existing plan. We can discuss design options and the questions to address for your site.

  • A layout for everyday living
  • The relationship to the existing home
  • Privacy, access, and outdoor space

Can I start with an existing design?

Yes. Explore our project and plan collections, then talk with the team about the design you like. Suitability and approval requirements must be checked for your property.

For property owners creating additional living space for family, guests, or another household.

Decide who the space is for

An accessory dwelling unit needs to work as a home. Think about the people who will use it, the privacy they need, storage, outdoor space, and how they will enter. Those choices help turn a general wish for more space into a useful design brief.

Compare the rooms, not just the exterior

The Forma gallery brings the kitchen, living space, and bedroom into view. Acacia and Perlita include floor plan drawings as well as exterior renderings. Use these views to look at circulation, the relationship between rooms, and where furniture might fit. A design that looks right from the street also needs to work through an ordinary day.

Explore an existing plan or a new design

The S-AC plan collection includes ten options with design views and available drawings. It can help you identify a starting point. An existing plan still needs to be considered in relation to the property, access, utilities, and the applicable approval process. Contact the team about the option you like and its current suitability for your site.

Before we begin

A few questions,
answered.

Does choosing a plan mean my property is approved?

No. Choosing a design from the ADU plan collection does not establish approval for your property. Ask the team to confirm the current plan details, approval status, and requirements for your jurisdiction and site before proceeding.

Can S-AC help with both ADU design and building?

You can discuss both services with the team. Design services are provided through S-AC Design Group, and general contracting through S-AC Builders. Describe what you already have and the scope you need.

What should I send with an ADU inquiry?

Include the property location, intended use, and whether you have an existing plan in mind. Photos or drawings of the property can be discussed with the team after the initial inquiry. The form does not require you to know every project detail.
